Washington Advocacy Day

Monday, March 21, 2005 - CoSN/ISTE Washington Advocacy Day

Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel

CoSN/ISTE Washington Advocacy Day Training
Sponsored by HP and Texas Instruments
Plan to arrive a day early to participate in the CoSN/ISTE Washington Advocacy Day for Education Technology Leaders. With budget shortfalls and essential education technology efforts being slashed, it is imperative that the education technology community deliver a strong collective message about the value of federal support for education technology. The Washington Advocacy Day is a positive way to take action and help ensure that critical federal programs such as the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) are funded and E-Rate is preserved.

During the morning briefing, participants will be provided with a primer on advocating before Congress and will review the current education technology legislative agenda and political environment. In the afternoon, participants will go to Capitol Hill to meet with their Representatives and Senators to put the day’s lessons to use. Top off your CoSN Advocacy Day efforts on Capitol Hill by participating in A Night of Empowering Ed Tech Advocates: 1st Annual Silent Auction/Reception.

We hope that you will take advantage of this excellent opportunity to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill. Come help CoSN and ISTE preserve the federal programs that are vital to the future of education technology.
