8:50 AM – 9:40 AM Opening Keynote Address: Web 2.0 in K-12: Buzzword or Transformation?
Does Web 2.0 offer the prospect of transforming our schools or is Web 2.0 just the buzzword du jour? What difference has the information age already made for schools, teachers, and students? And how much more will the interactive Web change it? The hopes and the implications for participative, engaged learners are exciting but daunting for many educators. Mr. House will offer prescriptions for policy and leadership initiatives that align with these possibilities.

Charles House, Executive Director, Media X at Stanford University

4:15 PM – 5:00 PM Closing Keynote: Moving Forward: An Action Agenda
The 21st century is a very different time from the one that preceded it. As the factory schools of the 20th century recede into distant memories education emerges into a millennium rich with choice. Technology has opened the door to many possibilities for learning but human nature often finds it easier to keep on doing wrong things—so long as many others share the error—than to do the right things with relatively few others. It is not a time for waiting to be told what to do; it is a time for action and this session will focus on the need to build effective, seductive, and rather enjoyable learning... and will look around the world for action agendas that we will all need in order to proceed.

Keith Krueger, Chief Executive Officer, CoSN (Moderator)
